Water & coast · Geiranger harbour — Seven Sisters fjord corridor
Kayak beneath the waterfalls of Geirangerfjord
Meet one of the planet’s great fjords at water level, below abandoned farms and waterfalls that unravel into deep green water.
Push away from Geiranger’s small harbour before the day reaches full volume and the fjord immediately changes scale. The village contracts behind you, the water darkens beneath the kayak and the Seven Sisters waterfalls emerge as white threads on walls that rise almost vertically from the water.
A guided half-day paddle is the sound choice for travellers without cold-water experience. Conditions can change quickly, so the reward comes from a flexible route rather than chasing distance: pause near a safe shore, listen for falling water and look up toward the abandoned farms that make the landscape feel inhabited as well as immense.
