Culture & heritage · State Apartments — Hall of Mirrors — gardens — Grand Canal — Trianon
Walk from the Hall of Mirrors into the gardens of Versailles
Move from the ceremonial state rooms through the Hall of Mirrors and out along Le Nôtre's immense garden axis to the quieter Trianon estate.
Enter the palace at the first practical timed slot and follow the state apartments to the Hall of Mirrors, where windows and mirrors multiply the garden beyond. Step outside and continue the same east-west line through water parterres, groves and fountains toward the Grand Canal, then leave the central crowds for Trianon.
The palace is closed on Mondays and requires a timed reservation; Trianon opens later than the main palace. Distances across the estate are substantial, so plan a full day, check fountain-show schedules and bring water while preserving enough time for the gardens rather than spending every hour indoors.
