Drive the lavender roads of the Valensole Plateau

Follow the working lavender plateau from Manosque toward Valensole, stopping at farms and a distillery before the road descends toward Moustiers.

Best timeMid-June — mid-JulyDurationFull dayEnergyEasy

Leave Manosque early and let the D6 climb onto the plateau, where rows of lavender follow the rolling ground toward distant mountains. Continue beyond the busiest roadside viewpoints to a producer visit, then cross through Valensole and Puimoisson before finishing among the pale cliffs near Moustiers-Sainte-Marie.

Flowering is weather-dependent and often lasts only from mid-June into mid-July on Valensole, so confirm conditions immediately before travel. Park only in designated places, never enter or trample crops without permission, avoid drones near farms, and buy directly from producers where possible.
