Enter the prehistoric world of Lascaux

Walk through the complete Lascaux IV facsimile in the sequence of the original cave, then study its animals, signs and making inside the interpretation galleries.

The contemporary building disappears into the hill before the guided route enters a carefully reproduced underground volume. Bulls, horses, deer and abstract marks are not isolated pictures: they move across curves, recesses and changing sightlines. The later galleries slow the experience down, separating technique, chronology and conservation so the emotional first encounter can be reconsidered through evidence.

The original Lascaux cave has been closed since 1963 and cannot be visited; this experience is the complete, exact Lascaux IV facsimile. Reserve the correct language and format in advance, arrive early and allow time beyond the guided cave section for the interpretation spaces. Keep the replica distinction explicit, follow photography restrictions and avoid presenting debated meanings as settled fact.
