Culture & heritage · Clos Normand — Monet's house — underpass — water garden
Enter Monet’s garden world at Giverny
Move from the flower-packed Clos Normand through Monet's pink house to the Japanese bridge and water-lily pond that became a central subject of his late work.
Begin among the straight paths and dense colour of the Clos Normand, then enter the house to see the rooms, Japanese prints and views Monet lived with. A passage leads beneath the road into a different composition: weeping willows, reflections, water lilies and the green bridge turn a garden visit into a walk through the source material of his paintings.
The house and gardens operate seasonally and online booking is strongly recommended. Choose the first entry or a late-afternoon slot, allow groups to move past before stopping at the pond and consider arriving from Vernon-Giverny by shuttle or bicycle. The gardens are accessible, but the historic house is not wheelchair accessible.
