Circle Lake Annecy by bicycle
Ride the roughly forty-kilometre circuit around Lake Annecy, linking the eastern shore villages with the former railway greenway beneath the Bauges mountains.
Leave Annecy clockwise while the promenade is quiet and follow the water through Veyrier and Menthon toward Talloires. The route briefly demands more care on the eastern shore, then the southern marshes lead to the smooth western greenway, where Duingt's tunnel, beaches and open mountain views carry the ride back north.
The official circuit is about forty kilometres with roughly three hundred metres of climbing and some on-road sections. Rent a properly fitted bike, carry water and a repair kit, use lights in the Duingt tunnel and slow down on shared paths. Summer weekends are extremely busy, so leave early or choose spring and autumn.
